

Terms of Service
Customer Responsibilities:
An adult (18 years or older) must be present during the entire service call. If the technician arrives at the scheduled time, and no adult is present, or if the adult leaves prior to the service being completed, the technician will leave and you will be subject to the stated service charges. You must type in all passwords for security purposes. You are responsible for any data migration to a new PC or hard drive. Data transfers are available for an additional fee. For installations of new PC's or hardware upgrades, you are responsible for the removal of any packing materials or trash.
Tasks that Must Be Completed Prior to Service:
Please back up all vital data files prior to service being performed. Computer Fields is not responsible for lost data. Any hardware devices, components, peripherals, software, or cabling needed for the install must be purchased and supplied by customer. If network connectivity is desired for multiple devices, you must supply device (router, hub, modem, or switch) with adequate number of ports to support the required number of devices. ISP/Internet or home network connection must be activated and working properly prior to any related install. All computers to be networked must be virus and spyware free and all devices being connected must meet the minimum system requirements and be in good working condition. All equipment being installed must be located in the general area where the install is taking place. The technician must be given immediate access to the equipment so the service call can begin as scheduled. You must provide adequate environment (power, space, etc.) for the scheduled service. You are responsible for providing power cords and surge protectors. You must have available all legally licensed software and media that may be required.
Service Warranty:
Computer Fields warranties its workmanship for a period of 14 days from the service date. This includes issues with the configured installation set up by the technician. Computer Fields is not responsible for issues due to modifications to settings, new software upgrades or installations, ISP connection issues, relocation, virus or spyware issues, or misuse. Additional trips not covered by the warranty will be subject to charges.
Satisfaction Guarantee:
If you're not satisfied with the service we provided and you notify us within the 14-day warranty period, we will work with you to remedy the problem at no additional cost to you.
What happens to Computers/Laptops that do not get paid for?
This is referred to as Abandonment. If after thirty (30) days from the date we repaired your Computer/Laptop, you have not paid for the repairs or have not returned our phone calls or emails, said items become the property of Computer Fields. Your Computer/Laptop and/or parts will be considered abandoned.
Minimum System Requirements for Networking:
Please check to see that your computer meets these minimum system requirements:
- PC Operating system: Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Windows 7
- Server Operating system: Windows 2000-2008, Small Business Server, Home Server
- Available disk space (on each PC): 4 GB or more
- Available memory (on each PC): 256MB or more
- CPU speed: 1Ghz
- Passwords for operating system, ISP, and existing router (if applicable) must be available
- Windows CD and restore CD must be available with key code at the time of installation
- A broadband or cable connection must be active before the technician arrives; satellite-delivered broadband is not eligible for this service
- All computers to be networked must be virus and spyware free and all devices being connected must be in good working condition
- Internet connection, router and primary PC must be in the same room
- Computer Fields is not responsible for lost data; please ensure you have backed up your important data prior to any service
Data Recovery Service Terms & Conditions
1. Authorization
i. The client authorizes Computer Fields or its agents to conduct an evaluation of the media sent to determine the nature of the damage and provide an estimate of the data recovery cost and turnaround.
ii. The client authorizes Data Computer Fields, its employees, independent contractors, and agents, to receive and transport this media/equipment/data to, from and between their facilities.
iii. The client hereby represents, warrants, and affirms that he, she, or it is the owner or the authorized representative of the owner of the property and all of the information and data stored on said property. By asking Computer Fields to enter into this agreement with you, as client, you declare that the foregoing representations are true and correct. You agree to indemnify Computer Fields for any claims against Computer Fields related to this data recovery.
2. Failure to claim property
I. Any property left with Computer Fields unclaimed for 30 days, will be disposed or recycled. At which time Computer Fields shall have no liability to the client or any third party.
3. Limited Liability
i. Computer Fields shall not be liable as a result of this agreement or the performance of any data recovery services or evaluation of the possibility of providing data recovery services, for any claims regarding the physical functioning of equipment OR media or the condition or existence of data on storage media supplied before, during or after service.
ii. THE CLIENT UNDERSTANDS THAT DATA RECOVERY CANNOT BE GUARANTEED.
iii. IN NO EVENT WILL Data Computer Fields OR ANY CONTRACTOR, EMPLOYEE, OR AGENT OF Computer Fields BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA OR LOSS OF REVENUE OR PROFITS OR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, HOWEVER CAUSED, IN CONNECTION WITH THIS AGREEMENT OR ANY SERVICE PROVIDED BY Computer Fields OR ITS AGENTS, CONTRACTORS, OR EMPLOYEES -- EVEN IF Computer Fields HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF DAMAGE OR LOSS TO PERSONS OR PROPERTY.
iv. Computer Fields`s liability of any kind with respect to the services, including any negligence on its part, shall be limited to the contract price for the services. O-Client and Computer Fields agree that the sole and exclusive remedy for unsatisfactory work or data shall be, at Computer Fields`s option, either (a) additional attempts by Computer Fields to recover satisfactory data or (b) a refund of the amount paid by the client. The parties acknowledge that the price of Computer Fields`s data recovery services would be much greater if Computer Fields undertook more extensive liability or promised additional remedies.
v. Client is aware of the inherent risks of injury and property damage involved in data recovery, including without limitation, risks due to destruction or damage to the media or data and inability to recover data, or inaccurate or incomplete data recovery, including those that may result from the negligence of Computer Fields, and assumes any and all known risks of injury and property damage that may result.
vi. All data recovered will be kept for a period of 10 days after successful delivery to customer No charge will be made in the destruction of data. Data will be destroyed and thereafter no further records will be kept.
4. Confidentiality
i. Computer Fields agrees not to disclose any and all information or data files supplied with, stored on, or recovered from client equipment to any third parties except to employees , independent contractors, lawyers, or agents Computer Fields subject to confidentiality agreements or as required by law.
5. Payment
i. Payment is due in full upon completion of successful recovery, prior to release of data (whether shipped, picked up or downloaded), unless by special previous arrangement.
ii. Successful data recovery is defined as recovery of data that was not accessible or visible under the client`s computer operating system.
iii. The client agrees to pay for data recovery even if Computer Fields has partially recovered the data.
iv. The client is financially responsible for all shipping costs, custom duties and taxes to and from Computer Fields.
6. Warranty
i. Computer Fields makes no warranty, express or implied, and Data Computer Fields disclaims any warranty of any kind, for the services being provided or discussed hereunder.

Any personal information you provide to us including and similar to your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address will not be released, sold, or rented to any entities or individuals outside of www.computerfields.com.
Credit card details
www.computerfields.com will never ask for Credit Card details and request that you do not enter it on any of the forms on www.computerfields.com.
External Sites
www.computerfields.com is not responsible for the content of external internet sites. You are advised to read the privacy policy of external sites before disclosing any personal information.
Cookies
A "cookie" is a small data text file that is placed in your browser and allows www.computerfields.com to recognize you each time you visit this site(customisation etc). Cookies themselves do not contain any personal information, and www.computerfields.com does not use cookies to collect personal information. Cookies may also be used by 3rd party content providers such as newsfeeds.
